Daylight Hijacking in Joburg

The video below shows the hijacking which took place on Saturday, 16 November 2013, and it  has received over 83 000 views on youtube since it was uploaded over the weekend.

In the video, a dark coloured hatchback is seen screeching to a halt in front of a white SUV that had stopped at the intersection of  Commissioner and Crown streets. In the footage a black VW Polo and a white Corsa barricade the victim’s vehicle, leaving no escape route.
Several men can be seen exiting the first vehicle and opening the doors of the SUV. Meanwhile a second white vehicle stops behind the SUV. A man leaps out and
moves straight to the passenger side door, opening it.  The passenger is yanked out and he is forced to move to the back of the vehicle where he stands with his hands in the air.
One suspect seems to reach into the car to unlock the back passenger door. He opens it and then opens the back door, grabbing an item then runs out of the line of sight of the camera. The remaining suspects pull and coerce the remaining passengers out. The last woman, dressed in a pink shirt, falls, her foot apparently trapped in the seatbelt. The suspect rips it free, pushing her away before getting into the vehicle. All three vehicles drive off, leaving the passengers stranded on the street.
Throughout the 48 second long video, vehicles are seen driving past the incident without stopping.
